Thank you to everyone who has joined the Hanby Elementary PTA this year!  We have had a tremendous increase in our membership thanks to all of you.  We look forward to an exciting year working with and for our students!

Proposed Changes to the Bylaws of the John L Hanby PTA
To Be Voted on at the February 13, 2018 Meeting

BYLAWS:
Article V, Section 2 Dues.
               From:    The annual dues for each member shall be seven dollars ($7.00) for the local portion of dues plus state dues as determined by Texas PTA and national dues as determined by National PTA.
               To:         The annual dues for each member shall be two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) for the local portion of dues plus state dues as determined by Texas PTA and national dues as determined by National PTA.

 

Article VI, Section 2 Officers.
               From:    The officers of this Local PTA shall be a president, three (3) vice president(s), a secretary, a treasurer and a parliamentarian.
               To:         The officers of this Local PTA shall be a president, two (2) vice president(s), a secretary, a treasurer and a parliamentarian.

 

Article VI, Section 5 Duties of Officers.
               From:    C.  First Vice President shall:
                                             1. Serve as aide-to-the president; 2. Be in charge of community involvement; and 3. Preside in the absence of the president (in their designated order):
               To:         C.  First Vice President shall:
                                             1. Be in charge of fundraisers; and 2. Preside in the absence of the president (in their designated order):

 

Article VIII, Section 1 Regular Meetings. This association shall hold a minimum of three (3) meetings a year.
               From:    A. Meetings of the association shall be held in the months of October, November, December, January, February, March, April and May, time and date to be established by the executive board.  Five (5) days’ notice shall be given if change of date is needed.  The membership shall be notifies through regular publicity channels of the date and time of all association meetings following the first meeting of the executive board at which time this schedule is determined.
               To:         A. Article VII, Section 1 Nominating Committee.

The nominating committee shall consist of members seven (7) members and three (3) alternate members.  No individual shall serve as a member of the nominating committee for two (2) consecutive terms.  The president shall not serve as a member of this committee nor appoint any member of this committee.  Student members shall not constitute a majority of this committee.
               To:         A. The nominating committee shall consist of members three (3) members and one (1) alternate members.  No individual shall serve as a member of the nominating committee for two (2) consecutive terms.  The president shall not serve as a member of this committee nor appoint any member of this committee.  Student members shall not constitute a majority of this committee.

 

Article IX, Section 1 Executive Board.  Composition.  The members of the executive board shall be:
               From:    C. the faculty representative, historian.
               To:         C. the faculty representative.

Article XI, Section 1 Council Membership.  Representation.
               From:    B. Delegates and their alternates shall be elected by the executive board by May.
               To:         B. Delegates and their alternates shall be appointed and subject to approval of the Executive board by April.

 

Article XIII, Section 1 Fiscal Year.
               From:    The fiscal year of this association shall begin August 1 and end on the following July 31.
               To:         The fiscal year of this association shall begin June 1 and end on the following May 31.
